Amanda Dalgetty RN, BSN
Amanda is passionate about learning and loves to be involved in the process of helping others come to solutions. Rather than trying to solve others problems, Amanda is keen to utilize a coach-like approach and empower others to dig deeper within themselves to come up with meaningful solutions to their very real challenges. It is that ‘ah ha’ moment that drives Amanda and she is always looking for opportunities to engage in that moment with others.
Amanda has been a Registered Nurse at BC Children’s Hospital for the past 7 years and, during this time, she has lived her passion for learning and mentorship. Amanda has been a preceptor and mentor to many nurses on her unit and her naturally curious nature drew her towards becoming more proficient in her coaching skills.
Amanda graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and is currently completing her Master’s in Nursing through Athabasca University. Although Amanda is not a certified coach, she is a Clinical Nurse Educator at BC Children’s Hospital and licensed Coaching Out of the Box Trainer. In her role as a nurse educator Amanda is able to use her advanced coaching skills to support learners within her workplace.
Amanda is very interested in developing as a coach and in supporting others as they develop and refine their coaching skills. In an ideal world, Amanda would love to see everyone adopt a coach-like mentality as it has the ability to change the face of healthcare and how we all work together!
Through her caring and curious nature, Amanda does her best to support others in their development. She is passionate about helping others grow and looks forward to supporting you as you develop your coaching skills.
