Barb Halpenny PID, BCOM, CEC
When it comes to discovering potential, it all begins with a conversation. We all have personal and professional goals. Coaching is a process of inquiry leading to different ways of thinking that help individuals identify the best possible solutions. Barb provides a thinking partnership to help her clients create environments of growth and opportunity and decide what they really want to do.
Barb has a quiet, sensitive presence that allows others to feel comfortable and safe when speaking with her. She creates a trusting, caring, compassionate environment that provides an open, tranquil place to talk about what matters. Her warm, respectful style allows others to open up and identify personal strengths, create self-awareness and achieve superior performance.
Barb’s experience in business has given her a great perspective on how organizations work; the challenges of managing staff, the excitement and pain of implementing change and the satisfaction of making a difference. She has over 25 years experience in human resource management, training and communication, project management, consumer service marketing, and customer service. She has held several leadership positions enabling her to provide experience in strategic planning, implementation of policies and procedures as well as project assessment.
Formal education includes a Provincial Instructor Diploma, an Undergraduate Degree in Commerce, and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching. Barb is a member of the International Coach Federation and it’s local chapter in the Okanagan.
Barb enjoys coaching middle managers wanting to develop effective working relationships, and who want to use their strengths and natural talents to achieve results.
Barb and her husband love to entertain family and friends, golf, garden, ride bikes and spend time in their rubber dinghy on the lake. As empty-nesters, they are now taking more time to fit traveling into the mix!
