Shelley McClure BGS, CAM, MA, CEC
I am passionate about propelling individuals to success by supporting them to look within, and to lead from where they stand. I believe leadership in every capacity is about building relationships and taking action. Coaching is a catalyst for change and I foster a collaborative partnership with clients to support the achievement of extraordinary results. I have a creative, supportive, and inclusive style, and a practical, results-driven approach. If you can imagine it, I will work with you to help you achieve it.
My formal educational includes a Bachelor of General studies with a major in Education, a Certificate of Advanced Management, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training and a Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. I am a life-long learner who is a full-time student at the University of New England, studying a Doctorate of Education in Transformative Leadership. My research is on personal mastery and using a coach approach in regulatory practice.
I have worked in public and private learning institutions, government, as well as a large health organization in various roles from management to exempt leadership positions. Currently I am a full-time student, the Principal of Aspiring Leadership Inc. and as a Sessional Instructor at Vancouver Island University and the Justice Institute of British Columbia. I am trained and experienced in education, leadership, organizational development, change management, regulatory practice and my passion in context to it all is personal mastery. I am the author of Journey to the Heart of Young Leaders: Personal Mastery in Girls a leadership curriculum that is currently used in Independent Girls Schools in Canada, Unites States, Germany, Australia and Argentina.
As a professional, maximizing a coach approach, I support individuals to stretch outside their comfort zone for positive growth and performance. Drawing on my enthusiasm for propelling others, I invite individuals to excel through intentional listening, powerful questioning, insightful feedback and commitment to action. One of my favorite sayings is, “Dream big, apply strategically, reflect intentionally and celebrate collectively.”
"Dream. Imagine. Explore. Rebel. Invent. Create. Transform. Pioneer. Do these words describe what you do?"- Robert Hargrove
