In coaching, our opportunity to change the status quo is by identifying and exploring the dimensions of difference within your client. Whether these are dimensions of diversity or cultural differences, this discussion gives deeper and greater context to the client's lived experiences. Q: How do you feel that a coaching program can help an individual outside of work-related challenges?

A: I think having coaching skills is just really helpful in terms of making you very aware of your listening skills. You actually start to become a much better listener as a result of taking coaching training. You also become aware of people who are not very good listeners because you know what to look for and that can sometimes be a challenge in itself. You become very conscious of how you ask questions, maybe not always showing up with solutions, asking more questions to help the other person find that solution, and that sometimes can be a shift for people because they're not expecting that. I mean, I've heard stories of individuals who've taken coaching training and have gone back to the workplace and have certainly been showing up differently. They've been asking questions differently in a good way.
